Chapter Text

“You’ve called 110, what’s your—”

“I think there’s somebody inside—in my house. Downstairs.”

“Ma’am, what’s the address?”

“470-1006, Kaizenji. Please hurry.”

“Can you see them inside?”

“No, I don’t I didn’t see them. I heard the window screen pop and went to my bathroom.”

“Are you armed, ma’am?”

“What? No, I… please. Please, just hurry.”

“Bear with me, ma’am. Deputies are on their way.”

The sound of Tanaka’s ringing cell phone bounces around the quiet diner, drawing glances from other patrons. He takes another hearty bite of his steak burger, electing to ignore it. Kiyoko shoots him a look from across their table as she sips her drink— you gonna answer that? —and he yawns.

Too. Damn. Tired for people to still be bothering him with their problems.

But, valuing his life, he decides it’s in his best interests to answer the phone.

“Crime Sce—er, Tanaka Ryūnosuke speaking.”

“Hey, Tanaka, it’s me.”

Tanaka perks up at the familiar voice of his old friend and boss.

“Daichi-san!” Kiyoko tilts her head, curious, and he holds up a finger.

“You still at the station?” Daichi asks, voice laced with distress.

“No, Kiyoko-san and I are at dinner.”

Daichi sighs on the other end. “Ah, sorry to interrupt. It’s wait, you and Shimizu are —”

“Not like that,” Tanaka quickly cuts him off, shooting a glance at her across the table.

She looks at him for a moment, blinking, then her face flushes bright pink with realization. She shakes her head so fast he thinks it may fall off her neck.

“Is something wrong?” she asks, and Tanaka shrugs.

“Daichi-san, what’s up?” he says into the phone, “you never call outside work.”

“You know we’re never ‘outside work’, just off-duty ,” Daichi scolds.

Tanaka scrunches up his face and mouths, mocking Daichi. He loves his boss, don’t get him wrong, but he can be such a damn stick in the mud. Kiyoko picks up her cup and sips quietly, and Tanaka can swear he catches a smile hiding behind it.

But Daichi’s speech is growing faster by the second, and from the shuffling and mouthy breathing, something really must be wrong.

“Listen,” comes his voice after a moment, “I can’t find Tora.”

“Like, she’s not in your room?” His brows knit together, confused why Daichi would call him about this. It’s not as if the cat’s never disappeared to some dark old corner of Daichi’s home for some peace and privacy before.

“No, like, she’s nowhere in my apartment. I came home and she was gone. And no one on my floor knows where she is, either.”

Tanaka shoots out of his chair, and it’s all he can do to not cause a scene in the middle of the diner. If anything has happened to his favorite cat in the universe, so help him, he’ll turn the entire city upside down just to find her.

“Tanaka-san? What is it?”

“Hold on, hold on,” Tanaka tells Kiyoko. “Daichi-san, do you want us to help you find her?”

“If you don’t mind?” Daichi’s words become more breathy and frantic with every passing moment. Tanaka knows few things can shake his boss, so if he’s this panicked about it, he must really need help.

“I hate to interrupt your dinner but—”

“Don’t even worry about it, we’re on our way!”

Without waiting for a reply, Tanaka hangs up the phone and stuffs it in his pocket, looking back to Kiyoko. He wastes no time in explaining the situation to her, and as he feeds more and more information, her eyes grow wider and wider. With Kiyoko being the station’s resident cat-lover, he knows he can count on her to help.

“Then let’s go!” she all but shouts when he finishes, “Who knows where the poor thing could be?” She pushes her dishes to the middle of the table and gathers her things. Tanaka shrugs on his coat and makes a beeline for the front door, set on saving Daichi’s glorious pet.

“Wait, Tanaka-san, we have to pay!”

“Oh, shit, right!”

Daichi sighs and hits send on his phone, letting Tanaka know he’ll wander outside his apartment building. This is far from the first time Tora has gotten out, and he’s always had luck asking around if anyone’s seen an obnoxiously large cat looking for a warm place to sleep—because that’s where he always finds her. It’s not like she gets out because she wants to leave , it’s because Daichi doesn’t have a fireplace or a sunny patch of grass to offer. The dumb animal can’t have gotten far, but there’s always the possibility that she’ll wander into a park or even someone else’s house in search of the perfect place to sleep.

The constant distracting thoughts throwing a rave in his head whenever they please hardly help in his search. Rosy porcelain, wavy silver, slender and soft…

Okay, yeah, so maybe he’s been thinking about Wallet Guy.

Because clearly his cat running off isn’t punishment enough for whatever sins his past life must have committed. No, his mind has to be plagued with flashing images of the charming stranger’s toothy grin and the little mole by his eye. As a treat.

Passing police sirens wail and break him away from that train of thought.

Daichi, he stole your wallet, stop it!

...And your cat is still missing.

Tora had been a gift from Daichi’s mother and sisters for his twentieth birthday. For the past six years, she’s been his closest friend, besides Kiyoko, and any time something seems ever so slightly off—she eats less than normal, she doesn’t sleep for at least fifteen hours a day—Daichi goes into Instant Panic Mode™. Is he an idiot for it? Yeah, probably, but he’ll be damned if anything were to happen to that stupid cat.

He wanders further out, through the adjacent community and to where the neighborhood meets up with the main road. He checks alleyways, dumpsters, mailboxes, but there’s no sign of Tora anywhere.

Nobody he passes on the street has seen her, so he turns a corner towards Mrs. Nakamura’s house. She’s lived here as long as anyone can remember and knows everything that happens on their little block. But, after a brief visit, Daichi leaves her property without an answer for the first time. He lets out a heavy sigh as he steps back out onto the sidewalk, and an airiness fills his throat and his chest tightens. He has to find Tora before she gets herself into trouble. If she hasn’t already.

He almost considers going home and waiting a few hours to see if she comes back by herself, but he shakes his head at himself. Because if she doesn’t show up on her own, he’ll have lost precious time to search for her, and who knows where she’d get off to then.

He lets Tanaka and Kiyoko know he’s still found nothing, only to be met with no reply. Odd.

He tucks his phone away and turns around, planning to double back and make sure he hasn’t missed any of Tora’s usual spots, when he hears the metal gate next door clang shut and latch.

Low sunlight catches his eye as it reflects off a familiar head of silver hair, and Daichi’s wallet thief steps onto the sidewalk and sucks in a massive breath of the evening air. A manilla folder tucked under his arm and his hands are stuffed in the pockets of his jacket, the same one—same outfit, really—that he’d been wearing three days ago.

“It’s… it’s you,” his mouth spits out before his brain can instruct it not to.

No no no, he does not need another chance encounter with this guy. He needs to focus, and how is he supposed to do that when all the universe will let him think about is this mysterious man he only knows as K.

But before Daichi can make himself scarce, “K” turns his head, alerted by Daichi’s stupid gay disaster mouth.

They blink at each other for a moment before K breaks out in a grin that’s brighter than Daichi’s phone screen when he’s reading about the most recent accidental arson cases in the middle of the night (he’ll go blind by thirty at this rate).

“Officer!”

K waves wildly and approaches him, and Daichi wants to gouge his own brain out with a spoon and feed it to Tora like gourmet wet food when he doesn’t turn and sprint in the opposite direction.

His mind is chalk-full of fun imagery when it comes to this guy, apparently, and it takes every cohesive brain cell left inside of him to come up with something to say when K stops in front of him. He swallows.

“What, uh, what brings you around to… here?”

Smooth, Sawamura.

K snorts, and his nose crinkles up. “I just came to grab something from my boss’s place.” He nods down at the folder under his arm. He pats his pants pocket and the sound of keys clinks softly. “Y’know how it is, work and stuff.”

Daichi begins nodding, then pauses. Wait, he has a key to his boss’s house?

...He has a job?

His expression must give away his thoughts, because K makes a face at him. “I’m broke and an incorrigible flirt, not a hobo. We’ve been over this.”

“Right, right, sorry,” Daichi says.

Because what is he supposed to say to this perfect specimen of a man?

K chuckles and waves him off. “So how about you, officer?”

“Hm?”

“Working nighttime or something?”

“What? Oh, yeah—er, no, no, I’m—I live in the apartments down the street.”

Daichi points past K’s head and takes a breath, in and out, gathering himself.

God, you’re hopeless, Daichi.

“I’m actually looking for Tora. Uh, my cat. She got out while I was at work…”

“You. Have. A. Cat?”

There are practically anime sparkles gleaming in his eyes as he gapes at Daichi and he’s almost child-like in his pure excitement.

“Ohhhmygosh I bet she’s so cute. What kind is she? Do you think she’s okay? Wait, no, are you okay? Gosh, losing a pet must be so scary. Do you need help finding her?”

“Uh.”

“Too many questions?”

Daichi takes a moment to let his system reboot, then smiles.

Shit, yeah, he’s kinda cute.

“She’s adorable,” Daichi answers. “Norwegian forest cat. I’m sure she is. Yeah, I’m used to it at this point. And, no, two of my coworkers are looking around as well. Thank you, though.”

K nods, seemingly unfazed by Daichi’s ability to keep up with him.

“I did see a couple earlier that seemed like they were searching for somethi—”

K freezes, cutting himself off, then gasps. “Wait, a forest cat, you said? Big and fluffy, right? I might have seen her!”

Daichi nods and a million kilos fall off his chest. He finally has a lead, and who could’ve guessed how he’d get it?

“Yeah, that might be her! Where did you—”

Before Daichi can finish asking where he saw her, his phone dings in his pocket, then twice more, insistently.

3 new messages: Shimizu Kiyoko (11 October, 17:37)

[ We found Tora.

[ The address is 470-1006, Kaizenji.

[ You might want to hurry, before Tanaka-san does something questionable.

“They found her!” he tells K, and he can’t help the grin that forms at his lips.

K smiles back at him, making his stomach do funny things, and Daichi’s almost, almost relieved… until he rereads the address, and his face drops.

Wait, Kaizenji? No…

He turns around slowly, a part of him thinking that if he doesn’t acknowledge where they’ve found his cat, it won’t be true.

But, sure enough, the next street over—another residential street—is still there, as it always has been. Kiyoko sent him someone’s home address.

Not again.

He whips around to K.

“Sorry, I’ve—I gotta go,” he says, and starts backing away. A part of him really is sorry to leave, but he has to make sure his cat doesn’t get him arrested.

K nods. “Call me sometime, yeah? You still owe me dinner.”

He winks, and Daichi’s chest grows tight again, but in such different ways from before.

He opens his mouth to answer, then closes it. Wait, call him?

K taps at his own pocket with his finger and Daichi’s breath hitches. He reaches into his pocket and, just like before, there’s a slip of paper there, with a phone number written in that same neat handwriting.

K gives a two-finger salute and turns on his heel, leaving Daichi confused and alone in the middle of the sidewalk.

Daichi slows his sprint in front of the address Kiyoko sent him just as two squad cars pull out of the driveway. One of the driver’s honks as they pass, and Daichi nods in a quick bow. He’s not sure which part he pities them more for: responding to a call only to find that a dumb cat is the perpetrator, or having to deal with the disastrous duo that is Tanaka and Kiyoko.

He turns toward the house, bracing himself for whatever destruction he may see. To his surprise, he sees no fires blazing through the house’s many windows, and the small koi pond in the front yard maintains its structure. The only sign of chaos he sees is Tanaka and Kiyoko waiting for him in the yard. Tanaka waves enthusiastically, and Kiyoko stands beside him with her hands folded together, calm and dutiful as always.

“Daichi-san!” Tanaka calls as Daichi passes through the gate. “We found—!”

“Tanaka,” he cuts him off, greeting Kiyoko with a weak nod, “Just tell me the dumb animal isn’t in prison so we can all go home.”

His subordinates exchange a look, then turn around and walk toward the house, Kiyoko beckoning for him to follow. They lead him around the side of the house to a large window with the glass pushed wide open and… with a busted screen.

Dinner, a hot tea, and going to bed uninterrupted with a cat curled up on his feet. Daichi doesn’t think that’s too much to ask for. But the universe just loves proving him wrong.

He looks from the torn screen to his officers.

“Tanaka,” he says, voice level.

Tanaka takes a step back and dons a sheepish smile, letting out a nervous chuckle. But Daichi is exhausted and is not in the mood to play his usual intimidation games.

“Tell me you did not break into some poor person’s house to find my cat.”

“Yes!” Tanaka squeaks. Daichi raises an eyebrow. “I mean, yes, I didn’t! No!”

Daichi looks at Kiyoko, and she shakes her head.

“See? Totally innocent. Thank you, Kiyoko-san.” Daichi can almost see the sweat running down the side of his face.

“Though, you wanted to.”

Tanaka and Daichi’s heads snap back to Kiyoko, and wraps her arms around herself and turns her head away, clearly not expecting them to have heard her mumble. Daichi smiles despite himself and glances at Tanaka, whose soft eyes betray the fondness in his otherwise offended expression. Daichi looks back at Tanaka. “Okay, near home-intrusion aside, where’s Tora?”

Tanaka jabs a finger over his shoulder, towards the busted window. He follows him and Kiyoko up to the window and follows suit when they peer into it.

The living room is cozy yet spacious and very western-looking, with chairs matching the leather couch and a stout coffee table. And, sure enough, curled up on the right side of the room, at home in one of the chairs, is his stupid. Fucking. Cat.

“We saw the torn screen while we were walking by,” Tanaka explains animatedly, “and I was like, ‘hey! Kiyoko-san! That hole looks suspiciously Tora-chan-sized!’ But then Kiyoko-san says:”

“I said to stop creeping around somebody’s house before someone calls the police on us,” Kiyoko picks up with a sigh, playing along with his antics.

“The police! Called on us! We are the police, Daichi-san! So anyway, the police showed up—”

“Wait wait wait,” Daichi cuts him off, waving his hands, “someone actually reported you? Tanaka —”

“No, that’s the thing!” Tanaka says, “They weren’t called on us. So there was this chick, right, and—”

“Tanaka-san.” Kiyoko sets a hand on his shoulder, and he instantly freezes. “Why don’t we let her explain?”

Daichi’s stomach sinks. Someone had been home. He may be very, very screwed.

Kiyoko looks to the left and Daichi follows her gaze down the side of the house. A blonde head pokes out from around the corner, big brown eyes watching the trio.

Kiyoko’s face softens, and she waves to the young woman, signaling to come over. Her eyes go from Kiyoko to Daichi, widening. And then they fall on Tanaka. In an instant, she disappears around the corner with a yelp (Daichi can hardly blame her), and Kiyoko sighs. She holds up a finger to Daichi and Tanaka, one moment please, and breaks into a jog, following the woman around the back of the house.

Daichi shoots Tanaka a look out of the corner of his eye. Tanaka gulps, and Daichi sighs.

“Tanaka,” he says, turning to him, “Listen—”

“I’ll make the coffee for a month!”

“What?”

“And, uh, I’ll come over to clean Tora-chan’s litter box!”

Daichi blinks, confused, then takes in  the way Tanaka’s palms are pressed together and how his brow kits above his closed eyes. Daichi almost finds the apology amusing, and he supposes it checks out, with how much he scolds his juniors at the station.

“Tanaka,” Daichi says, crossing his arms over his chest, “I never said you were in trouble.”

Tanaka’s eyebrows shoot up and he opens one eye. Once he sees Daichi doesn’t seem inclined to beat the shit out of him, he relaxes, arms dropping to his sides and posture regaining its usual slack.

“Wait, really?”

Daichi nods. “It’s not like you did anything wrong. You found Tora. And, besides, I don’t really have a say in what you do off-duty, do I?” He winks.

Of course, they both know that Daichi holds himself responsible for his team in and out of the station, but a little leniency just this once can’t hurt. Apart from his growing exhaustion and the increasing sensation that he’s sprouting gray hairs, he actually finds that his mood is turning for the better. Soon he’ll have his cat back safe and sound, and getting to speak with the admittedly cute pickpocket again (what a weird combination of words) surely didn’t hurt. In his improved mood, he’s feeling awfully generous.

Tanaka breaks into his signature toothy grin and claps Daichi’s shoulder.

“Thanks, Dai-san! You’re the best, dude!”

Daichi raises an eyebrow and Tanaka shrugs. “You said yourself that you’re not my boss right now. Out here, we’re buds! Comrades! Bros!”

Daichi rolls his eyes, but can’t help the fond smile that finds its way onto his lips.

“Here,” he says, and reaches into his right pocket, fingers brushing by K’s note. He pulls out his wallet and takes a five thousand yen bill from it, then slaps it into Tanaka’s hand. “Give that to that poor girl for her screen. And for the trouble.”

Tanaka nods and Daichi replaces his wallet in his pocket just as soft footsteps sound in the grass behind him. He turns, and Kiyoko emerges from around the corner, fingers gently wrapped around the wrist of the young woman, who trails just behind.

“This is Yachi Hitoka,” Kiyoko introduces as they draw up to them.

Yachi visibly stiffens, clearly still wary, and she shuffles a few steps further behind Kiyoko. Daichi looks at his friend, and she simply smiles, breathing out a light chuckle.

“Hitoka-chan?” she says, tugging the blonde’s wrist a bit. “It’s alright. Explain to Sawamura-san what happened.”

Yachi steps up to stand beside Kiyoko and looks up at her, eyes filled with timidity, and Kiyoko nods, letting go of her wrist.

Yachi folds her hands in front of her and closes her eyes, taking a soft breath in and out. She slowly opens her eyes… then gracelessly jerks herself into a deep bow.

“I’m sorry!” her high-pitched voice shouts with conviction. “I shouldn’t have run away so rudely before! I’m sorry!”

She bows up and down, over and over, and Daichi waves his hands with a small smile of reassurance, while Tanaka stands confused next to him.

Kiyoko sets a hand on Yachi’s shoulder, and she straightens out (and stays that way, finally).

“I was j—just—I was scared,” she stammers, looking down at her feet. “After I thought someone had broken in, I was just… so scared. It’s only my third day living alone, and I thought, what if something bad happens? Mother would never let me be alone again!” Yachi’s speech grows more loud and rapid with each word of her rambling, and even Kiyoko looks taken aback. “What if someone really gets in the house? What if I get kidnapped?! For ransom! What if mother’s company has to pay it and they go into debt and it’s all my fault for not being competent enough—”

“Woah, woah, slow down!” Tanaka cuts her off, and she freezes, all but whimpering.

“Yachi-kun,” Daichi says, much calmer, “You’re alright now, okay?” Yachi trembles, then nods once. Daichi looks to Kiyoko. “What happened?”

“Hitoka-chan said she was cooking dinner when she heard a loud pop and a bang from the living room,” Kiyoko relays, “and she saw shadows on the walls and assumed someone had broken in, so she ran upstairs and hid behind the shower curtain to call the police.” She looks down at Yachi and gives her a gentle nudge. “Right?”

“Right. But—but after a couple minutes, I stopped hearing any movement, and the dispatcher told me to stay put until the police arrived, so—”

“And that’s when we showed up!” Tanaka jumps in, clearly eager to join in the story-telling. “While that’s all apparently happening, we walk by, and boom! There’s Tora-chan, right there in the living room! And when the police came, they saw us in the yard and we had to show our badges and explain that we were looking for a cat. They almost didn’t believe us until they saw her.”

Yachi nods, now fidgeting with her hands. “So they checked downstairs, and when they realized it had to have been…” she pauses, thinking for a moment. “Tora-chan! They realized Tora-chan probably busted through the screen, so they had me come downstairs.”

“And once they were sure everything was alright, they left,” Kiyoko finishes.

Daichi looks between the three of them as they blink at him expectantly.

“What the actual hell.” His voice is flat with the not-question, and Tanaka bellows a hearty laugh.

Daichi turns to Yachi and bends into a deep bow. She lets out a little squeak and he watches her feet inch closer to Kiyoko’s.

He can’t imagine how terrified she must have been. He remembers what it was like when he first moved into his own apartment; every little creak and rustle would wake him at night for at least a month after moving in, and several weeks still to be comfortable leaving the door unlocked. For a small, timid woman like Yachi, he’s sure the possibility of a break-in is right at the top of her list of anxieties.

“I’m very sorry for the stress and worry my cat caused,” Daichi tells her, then rises to look at her. “Is it alright if I go inside and grab her?”

Yachi nods. “I didn’t want to disturb her, so I let her keep sleeping through the whole thing.”

This woman. Kiyoko’s smiling down at her, and Daichi can tell Tanaka is trying not to melt where he stands. He can’t believe his cat for intruding on such a lovely person.

Daichi gives Yachi a smile and nod, then walks back around to the front of the house. He steps over the three little white stairs that lead up to the brick-surrounded door and enters the house. Directly in front of him in the foyer is the staircase, and through the doorway to the right he can see the dining room, which leads into the kitchen. He turns to the left and into the living room, his sneakers padding across the gray wooden floors. The living room is large, blocked off from the rest of the downstairs and taking up much of its side of the floor. A black brick fireplace extends out of the white walls, complemented by the black cushioning and gold metal of the furniture. Whatever Yachi or her parents do for a living, she’s certainly not struggling, even for as young as she is to be living on her own. Chatter from the three still outside floats faintly into the room, and an evening breeze blows through the torn window screen. He hears Tanaka tell Yachi about the money, and she fervently thanks him, apologizing for ‘making him feel like he has to pay her’, but accepts it nonetheless. Not that she’ll likely need it, but it’s the thought that counts.

Daichi eyes the closest chair, its back turned to him. He plants his hands on his hips.

“Sawamura Tora.”

His stern voice sounds through the room. Any noise from outside ceases, and his cat-parent senses can see Tora’s eyes fly open through the back of the chair. He hears shifting, then soft pads hitting the floor and the slow clicking of claws as Tora trudges around the chair and towards Daichi. Before she can rub up against his leg and put him under her spell of incredible fluffiness, he scoops her up in his arms, receiving a low meow.

“Mmhm, you know you’re in trouble, missy,” he says, booping her pink nose with a finger as she tries to make herself comfortable against him.

He carries her back through the house, stopping on the way to scoop up a clump of hair from the clean floor. He sets it on top of Tora’s head like a fluffy little hat and brings her back outside, much to her clear displeasure.

This could have ended much worse, Daichi knows, and he’d probably be screwed if this were anyone but someone so sweet and genuine as Yachi. He got off very lucky. He and his officers still have jobs, after all.

The others are waiting for him in the yard; Tanaka babbles about something (himself, Daichi would like to guess) while the others listen, Kiyoko encouraging short responses from Yachi. Daichi smiles. They could use a person like Yachi around the station, someone so genuinely considerate and sweet.

Daichi again apologizes to Yachi, who tells him to think nothing of it. Still, he thinks, she’s clearly shaken and is eyeing Tora as if at any moment she’s going to pounce, demanding to know Yachi’s credit card number. He can’t just walk away from this.

“Yachi-kun,” he says after a moment of thought, “Would it be alright if I bought you dinner? I’m… I feel awful for the trouble and—”

Yachi shakes her head. “No, no, it’s okay! I don’t want to put you out or anything. Really, it’s not a big deal.”

“Are you sure? You must be hungry after Tora interrupted your cooking. At least let me—”

“Sawamura-san.” Kiyoko steps forward and cuts him off. “You should go home. I say this as your friend, but you look like, well… garbage.”

The yard goes dead quiet. Tanaka snorts, before exploding into laughter, clutching his stomach and slapping Daichi’s back.

“What—Shimizu!”

Daichi’s not sure whether he’s supposed to feel offended or supported, but honestly, he can’t even deny it. The stress of the day truly has caught up with him, and he’s sure he looks just as tired as his aching body feels.

Kiyoko sets a hand on Yachi’s arm. “Hitoka-chan, is it alright if I take you out for something to eat?”

Yachi looks up at her. “You really don’t have to, Kiyoko-san.”

“I insist.” Kiyoko’s eyes are set with confidence and her smile is unwavering. “Come, let’s get you pulled together.”

Kiyoko moves her hand to Yachi’s back and guides her towards the front of the house, giving Tanaka and Daichi a nod as she passes. She asks Yachi questions as they go, making small-talk.

“What do you do, Hitoka-chan?” Daichi hears her ask.

“Oh, graphic design!” comes Yachi’s answer, “I’m an artist. But I’ve also trained to be certified for…”

Their voices fade as they turn into the front yard and Daichi yawns and strokes Tora’s fur, glad to have escaped without consequence.

Tanaka watches after the girls and breathes out a heavy sigh. “I’m so gone for her.”

Daichi gives an amused snort. “That much is obvious enough to a grade-schooler, buddy.”

“Got that right!” Tanaka barks out with a laugh. He reaches out and strokes Tora’s back. “Hell of a night, huh?”

“More exciting than anything we get at work these days,” Daichi shrugs. “See you at the station, Tanaka.”

“You got it, boss!”

Daichi drops Tora onto his pillow, then flops down face-first beside her.

“What a day,” he mutters to himself.

He flips onto his back and digs his belongings out of his pockets; his keys, his wallets… K’s note. He reaches for his nightstand and pulls out the drawer, setting it on top of the first one he’d received.

You owe me a real dinner, officer ;)

022-2027642

Daichi sighs and rolls over to pet Tora’s head. What do you have in store for me next, K?

Whatever it is, Daichi knows this guy is going to be the death of him.
