Chapter Text

“Guess what?”

“What?” you reply, smiling at his excitement.

“I finally named my ship.”

“It’s about time. Poor ship, the only thing you probably ever called her before was ‘you worthless piece of scrap.’”

“I would never say that. Maybe I called her a ‘hunk of junk’ a couple of times, but that was when the landing array quit working after I paid to have it fixed. Turns out that I just had a shitty mechanic though.”

The two of you step off the dirt path that led you through the towering trees to a large flat area where several starships are parked. Din’s blue and white Kom’rk is there at the edge of the field.

When you reach it, he turns to face you with a grin and pats the side where two words in aurebesh have been painted in bright blue. “See? I even made it official.”

“Shooting Star?” you read aloud with a smile.

“Star is for you, of course. And shooting is for me because, well, that’s what I do.” He shrugs sheepishly. “It’s probably a stupid name, but -“

“What? No, it’s perfect! But you must have named it a while ago, the paint is already fading a bit.”

“Yeah, I named it one and a half standard years ago. Right before I saw you and Tal that time. It was, um, hard, having the reminder of you, but it seemed worse to change it. It’s, uh, bad luck to change a ship’s name unless it’s new to you.”

You tug at his cowl and he leans down for your kiss. “I’m glad you kept it. See, it was meant to be.”

“So it seems.” He cups your cheek in his hand and gives you that look that makes your heart melt. Then he glances around and presses a button on his vambrace to open the hatch.

“Well, we’d better get going. If Maz sees me, she’ll chew me out for landing the ship here. She doesn’t let me into the castle, you know,” Din mutters as he hefts your bags up the ramp.

“Maz? Why are you afraid of her?” You are puzzled as to why a notorious bounty hunter and the rightful ruler of Mandalore would fear a small, wrinkled old woman. You aren’t sure what species she is, but it seems unlikely she has any abilities that might make her dangerous.

“Clearly, you’ve never seen her upset. I’d sooner take on a Rancor with my bare hands. I caught a bounty in her cantina once, even though it’s against the rules. She swore she’d skin me alive if she saw me again. Said she’d sic a Wookiee on me.”

Din seems genuinely concerned about the prospect of Maz catching him in her spaceport, so you move quickly up the ramp. He stows your bags and the two of you head to the cockpit. You set your little loth cat, Snowball, down and she darts off to who knows where.

“Wanna do the take off sequence? I showed you how that one time.”

“Um, that’s ok, I’ll just watch you.” Did he really think you would be able to remember that lesson?

“Ok, get strapped in, little star.”

You watch Din’s gloved fingers dance across the control board, pressing buttons and flipping switches without having to think. His expertise as a pilot is evident and it’s undeniably sexy. Your mind wanders and you daydream about the other ways his hands move so competently. Maker, this man will be the death of you.

The blue and green surface of Takodana fades away as you fly up into the stars. Once you’re in hyperspace, Din turns on the autopilot. He swivels his chair to face you and tilts his head to the side.

“It will be a couple days before we get to Mandalore. How ever will we pass the time?”

You move towards him, swaying your hips a little more than strictly necessary. “Hmmm, let me see...you know, I do remember that pilot’s chair being a lot of fun.”

“I was hoping you’d say that,” he growls as he grabs you by the hand and tugs to pull you down onto his lap.

“I don’t know why I bother getting dressed around you,” you moan as he nips your earlobe.

“Neither do I.”

***

You aren’t sure what to expect as Din pilots the Shooting Star through Mandalore’s atmosphere. You know that the planet is essentially a wasteland, decimated from years of Mandalorian wars and the exploitation of its resources at the hands of the Empire. Din had said that the palace is located in one of the domed cities that made the planet habitable. You stare down at the brown and gray terrain surrounding the shimmering bubble that tops Sundari, the capital city.

You land inside a large airlock just outside the dome. The two of you gather up Snowball and the rest of your things and get ready to exit the ship. Din squeezes your hand and smiles reassuringly, as if he senses your nervousness. “It will be fine.”

“You said hardly any non-Mandalorians visit...what if people don’t like me because I’m not a Mandalorian? ”

“It will be fine. I like you and so will they. I love you actually, which is an upgrade. So don’t worry, little star.”

Din slips on his helmet and dons the fur cape he never wore on Takodana. He grabs your bags, and presses the button that opens the ramp. You follow him down. Din nods at a few armored and helmeted guards with red capes pinned at their shoulders who have gathered at the bottom of the ramp.

“Mand’alor! We did not know you were returning today. I apologize that we are not better prepared to greet you,” says a woman in shining black armor.

“This is the perfect greeting, Mari, thank you.”

A tall man tries to take the bags from Din, but Din shakes his head and waves him away. “No need, Paruc. Thanks though.”

Din nods curtly at the guards to dismiss them and lopes past with your hand in his. The two of you pass more guards at the palace entrance, which is located just inside the wall of the bubble. Once inside the palace, you stare at the vaulted ceilings of the foyer. It is sparsely decorated, with the main accent being the stained glass windows high up on the wall. Other than that, it is mostly bare stone walls and tiled floors. Din notices you looking around inquisitively.

“The palace was empty for some time. It was stripped of many things by the Empire.”

Before he could say anything further, a redheaded woman in blue armor comes tromping down the hall.

“Mand’alor - “

“Din,” he corrects irritably.

“Din, you were gone far longer than expected. We have much to discuss.”

You chew on your lip. Din had stayed with you in your little cabin in Takodana for a month, wanting to put off his return to Mandalore for as long as he could. However, you sense that this reprimand is aimed more at you than at Din.

“And who is this?” the woman inquires, her voice clipped.

Din introduces the two of you to one another. You notice Bo-Katan narrow her eyes slightly when she looks you over. You refuse to shy away from her stare. Ever perceptive, Snowball hisses at the woman from the cradle of your arms.

“We are going to put our things away and then I’ll join you, Bo-Katan. I have a lot to discuss as well. For instance, I think there’s something wrong with the main holoprojector. It seems to be deleting incoming messages.”

Din walks briskly past the suddenly pale woman with his hand at your lower back to guide you forward. When the two of you reach a spiral staircase, Din indicates that you should climb up it.  After you reach the next floor, he shows you through a maze of echoing passageways until the two of you arrive at a set of carved double doors with a guard stationed outside them.

“Mand’alor. Welcome back.”

“Thank you, Rell.” Din introduces you and then enters the room. He drops the bags and pulls off his helmet. You release Snowball, who yowls with indignation and hides under a nearby chair.

“We just got here and I already feel exhausted by it all,” he sighs. “At least you’re here with me.”

You gaze around the large bedroom. It feels more lived-in than the other areas of the palace that you’ve seen so far, but there's a very masculine, spartan air to it. There are two heavy scarlet wall hangings, one adorned with the image of a mythosaur skull and another emblazoned with Din’s mudhorn signet. A large wooden chest sits at the foot of the biggest bed you’ve ever seen. By the window stands a desk and there is a table with two chairs on the other side of the room. A large fireplace across from the bed is set with logs and ready for a fire. There are two small couches and an armchair arranged next to a bookcase holding several very old, leather-bound volumes. Thick carpets muffle your steps across the tiled floors.

You walk over to the window and take in the view. The garden that lays below is made up of green lawn, geometrically designed hedges, and large trees planted along the outer border. The sky looks gray through the dome overhead.

Din watches you look around. “Is this room...my room, ok for you? I mean, you can have your own if that’s what you prefer. We don’t have to share if you don’t want to. There’s, uh, plenty of space. Lots of rooms. Well, it is a palace and all. I would, uh, rather share with you here, but I don’t want to assume, so you know…”

You smile and wrap your arms around him. “Don’t be an idiot, Din. Of course I want to stay in here with you.”

“Thank the Maker, for a second I was worried I’d have to go sneaking down the hall every night like a teenager after curfew.” He kisses you deeply and pulls you close. His hands slide over you, gentle at first but then quickly becoming more and more insistent.

“But wait -“ you blurt.

“Hmmm?”

“Is it against the rules? I mean, I’m not...we’re not...you know.”

“Not what?”

“You know. Married. Won’t it look bad?”

Din snorts with laughter. “No, it’s fine, cyar’ika . No one will think anything of it. Mandalorians don’t worry about that sort of thing. They just have sex when they want to have sex and then get married when they want to get married.”

“Yes, but you’re the king. It might be different for you. Maybe we should ask someone?”

“Who? Myself? The only perk to this stupid Mand’alor business is that I get to make up the rules.” Din sucks on your lower lip and walks you backward until the bed forces you to bend at the knees. You land on the fur throw with a surprised squeak. ”And right now I decree that you should let me eat out that fucking delicious pussy of yours.”

***

You fiddle with the neckline of your simple satin dress in the mirror. It’s not much, but it’s the fanciest thing that you have. The dress is a pastel green, not your favorite color since it doesn’t quite go with your skin tone. You wish you at least had an elegant necklace to dress up the plain neckline. Unfortunately, all the ones you have are really just little things you’ve bought at markets here and there; there’s nothing sophisticated in the lot.

“What’s wrong?” Din asks when he steps out of the refresher and sees your miserable face. You have rarely seen him so clean-shaven. His mustache remains, but the scruff that usually adorns his jawline is gone. You lift your hand to run your fingers over his smooth skin.

“Nothing.”

Din narrows his eyes at you. He knows a lie when he hears one. Especially coming from you. Begrudgingly, you admit defeat.

“Ok, it’s just that I’m worried I wouldn’t be dressed up enough for this dinner. I don’t even have a nice necklace to wear, all of the ones I have are just trinkets. I mean, you said that the clan leaders will be there and I want to make a good impression because...I don’t want to embarrass you, Din.” The last sentence comes out choked and your eyes glisten with unshed tears. It’s been overwhelming, arriving here today and moving into a kriffing palace and now having to attend a state dinner in nothing but the old dress you wore to your sister’s wedding.

Din wraps you up in a tight hug. “I could never be embarrassed of you.”

He kisses the top of your head and squeezes you tightly. Then he purses his lips and taps at his chin thoughtfully. Din moves to the door and pulls it open. You overhear him say, “Rell, could you please fetch Lady Kryze?”

“Ok, we’ll find you a necklace, little star. Do you like your dress? I mean, I do, but if you don’t like it, Bo-Katan can probably find something else. She’ll tell you what ladies usually wear to these things.”

You stare at him, grateful for his help and a little shocked by the ease with which your problem has seemingly been solved. You busy yourself with your make-up until there is a knock at the door.

“Bo-Katan. Please come in.”

The dour woman you met earlier looks startled at being invited into the Mand’alor’s personal chambers. However, she steps in with a tight smile and nods to you in greeting.

Din gets right to the point. “I have a favor to ask. My, uh...consort, would like to make a good impression tonight. But she’s not sure what might be appropriate to wear.”

“Oh. Well, for one not wearing armor, a formal dress would be most appropriate. Maybe something a little more extravagant than the one her ladyship has on,” Bo-Katan replies stiffly, the phrase “her ladyship” seeming to stick in her throat.

“Ok. And she will just need some jewelry. Can you arrange all that?”

“Yes, there are some items in the vault that will work. I’ll go pick out a few things and bring them up.”

With that, Bo-Katan nods to each of you and turns on her heel to go complete her task.

You give Din a grateful kiss before he leaves to meet with some of the clan leaders before dinner. You are attempting to fix your unruly hair when there is a knock at the door. You open it and invite Bo-Katan inside. Behind her are a few women laden with armfuls of dresses that they lay out on the bed. Snowball arches her back and hisses at Bo-Katan again before turning tail and darting under the bed.

“I have some things that I think you will like. Choose what you want for tonight  and keep the rest here for next time.” She sets an ornately carved jewelry box onto the desk. “The dresses were my sister’s from when she was Mand’alor. You look to be the same size. It is good that they will get some use. These are some of the royal jewels. It sounds like the Mand’alor wants you to be able to use them.”

You had originally felt that Bo-Katan didn’t like you, so her kindness is unexpected but welcome.

The redhead clears her throat and continues, “Tattoos are common on Mandalore but I’ve never seen a woman display them as openly as you are now. Especially for an event like this. You certainly have a lot of them, so I suppose we can’t hide them all. You should at least wear one of the shawls I picked out to cover up as many as possible. I must recommend that you do something about your hair. I’ll send up a hairdresser. And someone to do your nails. Black won’t do. Maybe we should have a professional redo your make-up. What do you think? We wouldn’t want your appearance reflecting badly on the Mand’alor.”

On second thought, you decide you don’t like Bo-Katan much at all.

***

However, all the fuss about your appearance is worth it when you step out into the Royal Gardens and see Din. When he turns his head and notices you approaching, he chokes on his mouthful of wine and ends gasping and sputtering. You cough daintily into your hand to cover your laughter.

Din abandons the older woman he was speaking to and strides over to you. He puts his hands on your hips, his thumbs lightly rubbing circles into your burgundy silk gown. “ Cyar’ika , you look gorgeous. Really. You always look pretty, but right now...you’re the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”

He looks at you, enraptured, as if there’s no one else there with the two of you. Finally, you whisper, “Din, shouldn’t you be mingling or something?”

He rolls his eyes. “Can’t we leave now and go back upstairs?”

“The dinner hasn’t even started! And besides, I just spent two hours getting ready, so I may as well be seen.”

“Ok, come on. If you really want to be shown off, I’d be happy to do it. I’ll introduce you to some people.”

Din steers you over to a man and woman in blue armor that resembles Bo-Katan’s.

“Koska, Axe, I want to introduce you to my consort.” You tell them your name and they seem genuinely pleased to meet you.

“I’ve been hearing about you for quite some time, my lady,” says Axe with a grin. “Our Mand’alor couldn’t shut up about you.”

“Welcome to Mandalore, my lady. Please let me know if you need anything. I’m sure it is hard to get used to a new culture. I’d be happy to answer any questions you might have.”

You appreciate the offer. It will be nice to have someone other than Bo-Katan to help you figure things out.

A man steps onto the patio and announces that dinner is ready to be served. Din takes you by the hand and leads you back inside and over to the banquet hall. You notice you are the first ones to leave the garden.

“Are you always first out?”

“No. Now that you’re here, I’m tied for first,” he replies with a wink, as the two of you take your seats.

The dinner is a drawn out, lavish affair. You are seated next to Din, who is at the head of the table. On your right is a swarthy man in orange armor who drones on and on throughout the meal. You almost spit out your first bite of the entree because it’s so spicy you feel like your mouth is on fire. Once Din is done laughing at your watering eyes, he tells you that Mandalorian food is usually very spicy, which would have been helpful information to have prior to the meal starting.

After endless chatter and dish after dish of delicious food, dinner finally draws to a close.

“Now what happens?” you whisper to Din. You are hoping the answer is “we go up to our room and fuck all night” but you have a feeling that this will not be the case.

“We go to the throne room, everyone drinks too much and talks endlessly to everyone else and so on until we kick them out.”

You giggle at his lackluster description of the rest of the night’s activities. He grins and holds out his hand, “Shall we?”

The two of you stand, which causes everyone else to stand as well. You and Din exit the banquet hall and he walks you to the throne room.

“Oh, Din, it’s beautiful,” you gasp as you take in the spectacularly vaulted ceiling and walls of stained glass.

He smiles at your awe and strokes your cheek with his thumb. “Oh, I don’t know, I can think of a far more beautiful sight in the palace.”

Din turns to face the red and gold throne at the end of the room. “Hmmm, there is a lack of proper seating,” he mutters.“Hang on.” He bounds away to speak with the guards outside the door.

You are studying the geometric designs on the huge windows when he returns. The guests start to trickle in from the dining room.

Din is introducing you to more people whose names you won’t remember when two guards carry a large wooden chair up to the dais. They set it down next to the throne and leave as quickly as they appeared.

“Oh, good,” Din remarks. “They found a chair for you. I don’t know what they were thinking, not having a place for you to sit.”

You stare at him in alarm. “What? No, Din, I’m not sitting up there. That’s where the throne is, where you sit. I can just use one of these other chairs if I need to.”

“No. You will sit with me. I didn’t ask you to come all the way out here from the Mid Rim so that you could sit on the other side of the room.”

“But it’s probably not appropriate,” you protest weakly.

“Nothing I do ever is, why start now?” He gazes earnestly into your eyes. “Little star, I’m sorry if I didn’t make myself clear before we left Takodana. I didn’t ask you to come to Mandalore just to be a pretty little thing that hangs on my arm and keeps my bed warm. I need your help, if you’re willing to give it. I’m doing my best, but I don't really know how to be Mand’alor. You’re so smart and kind and observant and, above all, I know I can trust you with my life. I want you to help me be a good ruler. Please?”

You stare at him in silence for several long beats as you process his request. “I...I...Din, yes, of course, I want to help you however I can.”

He gives a long, slow kiss, seemingly unconcerned with the fact that you’re in a crowded room and most eyes are looking your way.“Thank you, cyar’ika .”

You sit beside him as he reclines on his large throne. He doesn’t have to mingle as much now, having officially met with the clan leaders earlier and mingled in the garden. Instead, he names the people milling about for you and describes their agendas.

Din sighs when he’s done recounting the palace intrigues and petty politics that seep through the air like poison. “I’m not good with people, I don’t know how to play their games. And I’m not good with words, I can’t hide behind them like most politicians. I need you, my star. I meant it when I said I can’t do this alone.”

Finally, the candles burn low in their holders, and Din signals one of the guards. In turn, the man announces that tonight’s events are at an end. He adds that the Mand’alor has enjoyed everyone’s company and bids them good night. The room empties remarkably quickly until at last two guards firmly close the huge doors behind them as they exit.

After a moment’s silence, Din gazes over at you, his head cocked to the side and long fingers tapping on his knee.

“I feel very...demanding when I sit here.”

“Well, who wouldn’t, your majesty? Anyway, let’s go up-“

“No. Get on my lap.”

A shiver goes down your spine at the domineering tone that has crept into his voice. You hesitantly comply with his request, sitting sideways across his lap.

“Uh uh. Not like that. Hike up that dress and straddle me. So I can fuck you right here on this throne.”

“But Din, what if someone comes in? The guards are right outside and-“

He slaps your thigh. “Baby, when I say something, you listen,” he growls. “Do what I said or I might have you suck my cock instead. Will you ride me with your pretty dress covering you up or do you want to have someone come in and see you on your knees with my dick in your mouth?”

You’re not sure what’s gotten into him, but you can’t deny that it’s really turning you on. Your cunt grows warm and damp. You scramble to straddle him like he ordered.

“Good girl,” he coos as he nips at the side of your neck.

Din reaches under your dress and pushes your panties to the side. He slowly runs his fingers through your folds. You are already embarrassingly wet for him.

“Naughty girl, already soaked for me. Do you like it when your Mand’alor tells you what to do?” His voice is low and rough in your ear.

“Y-yes,” you whisper.

“Good.” He leans forward and sinks his teeth into your shoulder as he thrusts a finger into your dripping hole. You muffle your moan with your hand.

Din abruptly pulls your hand away. “No, I want to hear all your pretty noises, cyar’ika . I don’t care if anyone else hears. Because if they do it just means they’ll know you’re mine.”

You feel the heat in your core build as he adds another finger and buries them both in your cunt. He rasps more filth into your ear as he lazily thrusts his fingers in and out of you.

“You feel so good around my fingers. Gonna feel even better around my cock. I’m going to stuff you so full...Has anyone else ever filled you up like I do?”

“No, no one else, Din. Not ever.” You wrap your arms around his neck and kiss him hungrily. “No one could ever fuck me like you do. No one could make me feel as good.” It’s the truth. You don’t think any other man could ever compare to him.

“Really, sweetheart? I do try to take good care of you, you know.” He scrapes his teeth along your collarbone and palms your breast through the bodice of your dress.”Because I love you so fucking much.”

You smile against his cheek. “Show me how much.”

“Now you’re just playing with fire, my star.”

“Am I?” You reach down and start to unfasten his pants. He is incredibly hard and you can’t help but moan at the feel of him.

“Fuck, pretty girl, need you to sit on my cock,” he grunts, pulling his hand away from your cunt and bringing it to your hip.

“Yes, your royal highness,” you murmur. You lift your hips up and slowly sink your dripping pussy down on him. His cock feels like it’s going to split you in two in the best way possible.

“Dank farrick, woman, how do you always feel so fucking good?” he gasps.

He snarls out several curses in Mando’a as you start to roll your hips. His hands clamp onto your hip bones.

“No, I don’t think so. I’m the one in charge.” He pinches the inside of your thigh and then rubs it to soothe the spot as he thrusts up into you. “You only get what I give you, pretty girl.”

You start to whine in protest, but it turns out that he’s willing to give you quite a bit. His strong hands guide your hips, grinding your core against him and then making you rise and fall over his cock. His cold armor presses into the back of your thighs and against your chest.

“D-Din, you feel so good,” you moan.

He tries to yank at your hair but pulls his hand back when it meets the various adornments that have been placed among your locks. Instead, he shoves aside the diamond and sapphire necklace encircling your neck so he can suck the delicate skin there. “You look so fucking beautiful,” he growls. “But all this shit is getting in my way.”

You would have giggled at his frustration, but he pulls your hips forward and your clit drags against the rough fabric of his pants. “Din!” you cry.

He grins devilishly and repeats the movement to make you gasp in pleasure again. “Lovely girl, I want to see your face when you come for me.” He bites your shoulder sharply. “Look at me when you come on my cock, on my fucking throne, in my palace.”

His kiss is hungry and intense. “Maybe I should fuck a little warrior into you. Would you like that?”

Your eyes widen in surprise. Din nips along your neck and growls into your ear. “You would look so fucking beautiful, all soft and swollen with my ad’ika in your belly. I could fill you up with my seed every day until it takes. Make a little prince or princess?”

You moan at his words, as unexpected as they are. You have the implant and he knows it, but the idea of him cumming inside you to plant his seed there is strangely intriguing.

Then he’s slamming your hips into his as he thrusts up into you and all your thoughts fall away. All you can do is hold onto him with your nails biting into the skin and muscle under his cowl. Moans of pleasure pour from your lips as a throbbing ache builds in your core.

“Wanna breed you so bad, I would keep you in my bed for as long as it takes if you let me. Fuck you three times a day...until your sweet pussy can’t hold another drop of my cum. Make it so that everyone who sees your round belly  knows I’m the one who bred you...that you’re all mine...that...that...you’ll always be mine.” His stutter gives away how close he is to coming, having worked himself up with his imaginings, but you know he will fight it until you come first.

His cock stabs up against something devastatingly delicious, “Oh, Maker, Din!”

He reaches between you and presses tight circles with his finger into your clit. “That’s it, lovely, scream as loud as you want. Such a good girl for me,” he purrs.

Suddenly, you shatter against him, wailing his name as ecstasy wracks your body. Your pussy clenches around him and your fingers tangle tightly in his hair. You are a whimpering mess in his arms. He fucks you through your release, whispering praises in your ear.

“Come inside me, Din. Fill me up like you said,” you plead in his ear.

He snarls at your words. A few more hard thrusts up into you and he’s cursing in Mando’a as his cum gushes into you. His cock twitches with each spurt until he shivers and collapses back into the throne with a shaky groan.

“ Osik , little star, that was probably the best fucking thing to happen in this throne room for a long time.”

You lay against his chest, ignoring the hard surfaces of his beskar, worn out from a very long day and a very good fuck.

Eventually, you mumble sleepily, “Can we go to bed now, Din?”

“Yes, of course, cyar’ika . And I’m going to enjoy thinking about my cum dripping down your thighs as we walk up the stairs.” He kisses your mouth, licking inside and then dragging your bottom lip between his teeth as he pulls away. “Might even take you the long way around.”

***

“You did so well tonight at that boring, stuffy dinner party, little star. I was so proud to have you at my side,” Din murmurs as he helps you out of your complicated ball gown.

“I’m just glad I didn’t embarrass you.”

“You were perfect. And I embarrass myself plenty, so don’t ever worry about that. When I got here I caused quite a stir because I wanted to sleep on my ship rather than in the palace.”

“You’re joking.”

“I’m not.” Din finally undoes the last tiny button on the back of your dress. He kisses you between your shoulder blades and trails a fingertip down your spine. “I’m so glad you’re here. It doesn’t seem real, not having to leave you to come back here.”

“I’m glad to be anywhere as long as it’s with you,” you say softly.

He slips the dress off your shoulders and it falls in a puddle at your feet. Next, he fumbles with the clasp of your necklace. After that, he unfastens your bra and flings it to the side. You laugh when he attempts to help you with your underwear, slapping his hand away and taking care of it yourself. When you’re completely nude he turns you around and steps back to admire you.

“You looked beautiful in that dress and those sparkly jewels, but I think I like you best this way.”

He gives you a quick kiss and lightly swats your bottom. “Get in the refresher like you wanted before I get you all nice and sticky again.”

Later, the two of you lay in the large bed and watch the firelight flicker and dance. Din is spooning you, holding you tight with one arm while the fingers of the other lightly trace patterns into your skin. Your time in the hot sanistream has roused you a bit, leaving you open to a late night cuddle and conversation.

“I can’t get over how good it is to have you here,” Din murmurs. “I don’t want to be apart from you at all. Not ever again,” he says softly, pressing a line of kisses into the back of your shoulder.

He continues, his voice raw and raspy. “I felt more alone here in this palace than I ever did back when I was bounty hunting and traveling alone on my ship, before Grogu. That was solitary but not lonely. This is lonely but not solitary. It’s like I’m surrounded by people here but all alone. I can’t truly trust anyone here. Everyone just wants something from me. They are all happy to use me without giving anything in return.”

You lift his hand to your lips and kiss it. “All I want is you, Din. And I would do anything for you. I love you so so much.”

He shifts away from you so he can press your shoulder and turn you to face him.

“Do you mean it?” He’s not asking playfully or flirtatiously. Rather, he sounds like he genuinely needs to know.

“Yes, of course. You’re all I want. Really. And I love you more than I can say.”

“Would you...would you marry me then, little star?”

The entire world is condensed into the firelight reflected in his soft amber eyes. He’s holding your hand too tight, as if in his nervousness he’s forgotten that he’s holding it.

Din gently cups your face in his hand. “I love you so much. I want to share the rest of my life with you. I want you to be the mother of my children. I’m sorry if this seems sudden but I know what I want and I don’t need to wait any longer to be sure. But if you need more time or -“

“I don’t. I don’t need more time.” Your lip quivers and your eyes fill with tears.

Din looks alarmed at your display of emotion. “ Osik , I’m sorry, that was so stupid, I shouldn’t have said all that. Please don’t be sad. Just...forget that I even said that.”

“Din, I’m happy, you idiot,” you manage to choke out.

“You are? Are you sure? Because I probably did that all wrong. I should have taken you somewhere romantic and had a gift for you or something. Fuck, I am an idiot, you’re right.”

“Din, yes. My answer is yes.” You wrap your arms around his shoulders and pull him down to kiss you.

“Your answer is yes? It’s really yes?”

“Yes!”

A huge grin spreads across Din’s face. His eyes light up and crinkle in the corners as he smiles. “Well, ok, wow...l can’t believe you said yes. I’m the luckiest man in the galaxy.” He squeezes you tightly and kisses you slowly and tenderly. He rests his forehead against yours in a Keldabe kiss after he’s done with your lips.

Din sighs happily and strokes your hair. “We can say our vows tomorrow then. Just the two of us. Maybe outside? It’s pretty by the old fish pond.”

“What? Just us? A fish pond? Ok, we may need to discuss the wedding plans in more detail later.”

“Why would we need wedding plans ? What is there to plan? We just say our vows.”

“Din Djarin, please shut up. I love you so much...I need you...make love to me and the rest can wait.”

Din smiles again and kisses you gently as he runs a warm hand up and down your side.“Ok, my lovely girl.”

He pauses abruptly and pulls away from your soft mouth. “But, uh, maybe tomorrow you could...could have your implant removed? So we don’t waste any more time making our little warriors. I want at least four. Grogu needs siblings. I hope they look like you. And fight like me.”

You laugh.”Yes, I’ll visit the medical droid tomorrow. And I don’t know about four. Now be quiet.” You catch his lips in yours in an attempt to cut off his excited rambling.

“So you think five? Six? Can we take in some foundlings?”

You can’t help but laugh again and hug him tightly. “Yes to the foundlings...probably no on the five or six.”

“I love you, little star. Whatever you want is what we’ll do.” He rolls on top of you with a contented moan and kisses every inch of your face and neck.

This time you’re the one who interrupts.”I’ll be part of your clan then, right, Din?”

He lifts his head from your breast where he had been busy dragging his tongue over your nipple. “Mmmm...yes, of course.”

“I want a mudhorn skull tattoo just like yours.”

Ner riduur (my wife) you and I, we will share everything.”
