Papyrus neatly puts away his books as the third bell rung. It was time for lunch and he was so excited to finally meet up with Undyne. He hasn't seen her since last summer. Well, what one would consider summer in the underground. He grabed his wallet and made his way out of the classroom and toward the lunch room. He stares at his wallet, completely lost in thought. He was finally a highschooler. The best years of his childhood life was ahead of him.
"Wowie! I can't believe it. halfway through the school day and I already know 3 other students!! well... I guess Undyne and Sans don't count. Alphys looked super nice! plus she is undynes girlfriend so I bet we will also be great friends!"
Papyrus glances out the window while smiling goofily at himself.
"hmmm.....A girlfriend......"
Suddenly he felt his check bones heat up as an image of Mettaton from this morning pops into his head.
"Oh gosh....who was that angel??"
Papyrus mumbles to himself as continues walking. He turned the corner, not noticing that it immediately leads downstairs. He took one step, completely unaware, and begun his tumble down the stairs.
" Woah there, boy."
Papyrus soul was encased in blue magic. He winced expecting to hit his head on the floor any moment but after about a minute he opened his eyes to find that he was suspended above the ground. He looks up to find his brother was looking at him upside down.
"Oh, dearest brother! How in the world did you get upside down??"
"Oh, you know.....magic"
Sans places papyrus gently on the ground looks him over to see how badly he was hurt. Aside from a slight bump on his head. he was fine.
"Geez, pap. you got to be more careful"
Sans pulls out an MTT-brand bandage and places it on him. Papyrus laughs and gets up to dust himself off.
"I was the careful brother! the stairs just....snuck up on me. Anyway, I'm off to the cafeteria now. I'm meeting Undyne there"
Papyrus reaches into his pocket to grab his wallet but soon realizes it's not there. He frantically starts to glance around the floor for it.
"Um...excuse me darling but could this be what you're looking for??"
Papyrus looks up to finally notice that Mettaton was with his brother. In his hand happened to be his rectangular Mettaton shaped wallet in his hand.
"ohmygosh!"
Papyrus snatched back his wallet and hid it behind his back. Sweat began to form as he felt so utterly embarrassed.
"Look it's not what you think. I'm just a huge fan and it was a limited edition! I mean who doesn't like Mettaton! He is so awesome and I mean...!"
Papyrus cheeks turn orange as he felt the embarrassment rise.
"Come on I mean you must be a fan too. you were even blessed with having the same name!"
Silence befalls the three of them. Papyrus sweats nervously.
"Well, I got to go..."
Papyrus rushes down the hall and through the cafeteria doors. Sans is holding his stomach trying so hard to contain his laughter.
"Sooo....your brother??"
Mettaton looks down at the trembling skeleton.
"Yup. Isn't he so cool? Can't believe he thinks you two are two different people. Well, I guess it makes sense seeing as this form never debuted on televisions."
Sans nudges Mettaton who just rolled his eyes in annoyance.
"Whatever darling. Let's just go get some food already. I'm quite famished"
Mettaton swings his charger around.
" Yeah, Yeah. Let's go to grillbys. "
Sans and Mettaton walk around the stairwell to take the usual shortcut without being seen.
Papyrus grabs his food and sits down at the first empty table he sees. He lost his appetite so he's just picking at ravioli on his plate.
"Geez.... that was so bad. Mettaton is going to think I am so weird."
He lets out a big sigh.
" What up dork!?"
Papyrus looks up to see that Undyne was taking a seat across from him. Alphys joined right next to her. Papyrus felt himself cheer up a little upon seeing his best friend.
"Why hello there Undyne! and to you as well Alphys!"
"H-Hi"
Undyne laughed at her girlfriend's timidness.
"Come on Alphys. No need to be nervous around him. He's harmless"
Alphys glances at papyrus who is giving her the biggest smile and most sparkly eyes that he could muster.
"I...I guess your right"
Papyrus, feeling way better now began to discuss his day to his friend. He told them how classes were going. How he was determined to make friends with everyone. He even mentioned his encounter in the hall with his brother and Mettaton. Undyne laughing at his clumsiness and alphys just listen attentively.
"My all I did was talk about me. Alphys, why not talk about yourself"
Alphys nearly choked on her food as she became flustered with having to talk about herself.
"W-well...I uh...I like to build things in my free time. I also watch, uh, "documentaries" on the humans."
Alphys trails off listing other nerdy things she likes to do.
"Wait, Wait, Wait. Did you say you like to build things?? Like....puzzeles???"
"I mean not exactly.....B-but I do enjoy a good puzzle from time to time"
Papyrus nearly jumps from his seat in excitment.
"Oh, my stars!! Finally, someone else who likes puzzles just like me! Oh, we must be friends immediately!! Alphys would you like to be friends with me!?"
Alphys was startled by the sudden outburst and could only manage a quick nod.
"Yes!! How wonderful! I made my first friends on my first day! If I keep this up I'll be friends with everyone in no time!"
Papyrus stood up and threw away his food before dancing out the door. The bell rings signaling the end of the lunch period.
"HAHAHA well I'm glad to see he's in a good mood"
Undyne kissed Alphys on the cheek before standing up to throw away her plate.
"You have a friend now and so does he. Knocked out two birds with one stone and didn't even have to lift a finger"
Alphys and Undyne head back off to their respective classrooms. Alphys caught a glimpse of Sans and Mettaton returning back from their lunch and ran to catch up with them.
